We just got back from Lake Powell and had a blast. It is such a great place, without children. The whole time I was there I kept thinking about how much I would be freaking if my girls were with me. Luckily we have great friends that like leaving their children behind and are willing to take us with them. However, you know you're in trouble on the trip when the owner of the boat complains that sprinkles hit his boat and got it wet on the drive down. I thought maybe we were going down to position the boat to make it look like it was on the water to take pictures, but not really get in the water. I really began to wonder if we were going to get wet when the boys were all out cleaning the boat with towels as soon as we arrived.
Luckily after the boat got cleaned we did get to go into the water. After several nose enemas I decided to go back to the old fashion way of skiing and use two. I know it's not quit as hip as slalom, but hey, I can do it.
Brian is definitely the hip on in our family. He's pretty dang good, and had some great cuts, they just all turned out blurry with my photography skills.
I caught my first fish while there. Of course I wouldn't touch it, but I ate it! It was great! Oh, and by the way, it was the biggest fish caught on the entire trip.
Brian caught one too, he's braver than me and held it just fine. What a stud!
While in Lake Powell you have to go cliff jumping. So the boys did. I think they all reverted back to childhood while playing down there.
I had a relaxing ride on the tubes and some not so relaxing rides on the tube. What a blast! Maybe next time Shannon will let me let go of her and see what tubing is really all about.
It's always sad when the trip comes to an end, but exciting to get home. We had a great trip and are looking forward to another one next year. Four great couples, and friends, a boat, lots of goodies, and Lake Powell equals one great vacation!
