New sport!

Shayla has discovered a new sport!  She is wild about it, even if she "only caught weeds."  Since Brian had a fishing license that was to expire this weekend, he decided to take Shayla up and show her how to fish.  She did a great job learning to cast and reel back in.  Watch her in action.

Lake Powell

We just got back from Lake Powell and  had a blast.  It is such a great place, without children.  The whole time I was there I kept thinking about how much I would be freaking if my girls were with me.  Luckily we have great friends that like leaving their children behind and are willing to take us with them.  However,  you know you're in trouble on the trip when the owner of the boat complains that sprinkles hit his boat and got it wet on the drive down.  I thought maybe we were going down to position the boat to make it look like it was on the water to take pictures, but not really get in the water.  I really began to wonder if we were going to get wet when the boys were all out cleaning the boat with towels as soon as we arrived.

Luckily after the boat got cleaned we did get to go into the water. After several nose enemas I decided to go back to the old fashion way of skiing and use two.  I know it's not quit as hip as slalom, but hey, I can do it.

Brian is definitely the hip on in our family.  He's pretty dang good, and had some great cuts, they just all turned out blurry with my photography skills.

I caught my first fish while there.  Of course I wouldn't touch it, but I ate it!  It was great!  Oh, and by the way, it was the biggest fish caught on the entire trip.

Brian caught one too, he's braver than me and held it just fine.  What a stud!

While in Lake Powell you have to go cliff jumping.  So the boys did.  I think they all reverted back to childhood while playing down there.

I had a relaxing ride on the tubes and some not so relaxing rides on the tube.  What a blast!  Maybe next time Shannon will let me let go of her and see what tubing is really all about.

It's always sad when the trip comes to an end, but exciting to get home.  We had a great trip and are looking forward to another one next year.  Four great couples, and friends, a boat, lots of goodies, and Lake Powell equals one great vacation!

Decorating Tips Needed

So we have this little alcove, perch, display area, (I don't know what you call it) on the stair case.  The people that owned the house before us used it for a fake plant.  We're not really fake plant, or real plant people for that sake.  I'm sure you can put a beautiful statue there, or a grand display of some sort, but I'm just not sure.  I don't really want to put anything that the girls could get hurt on, or hurt.  We've talked about different ideas, but nothing seems to stick.  I'm sure if I had my sister-in-law's decorating skills it would be a beautiful, perfect display to welcome people into our home, but alas, I don't have any kind of skills in that area at all.  We just can't figure out what to do.  I really love the space and know it will be a really cool aspect to our home.  Oh well, I guess we'll just have to leave it as it is decorated until we find something to do with it.  What do you think?

Oh what do you do in the summertime?

We found a new way to spend our hot summer days.  It looks like great fun to me.

I love those pool faces.

These pictures don't really show how much fun they really are having, so watch this.  Check out the great view that they get to look at while they're swimming.

Great laugh, Cambree!

New House

Well, we did it! We moved to a new house, and I think we lived to tell about it. We are really enjoying this new house. It gives us more room and a great view.  The backyard is so amazing that we try to be out there as much as possible.  Which is a rather incredible feat for those who know me and know that I try to avoid the outdoors as much as possible.  There is something about having a pure shot of the mountains and a beautiful golf course to look at right out your back door.  Brian keeps saying he feels he is on vacation.  So I guess you can call this a vacation home.  So the invitations out, come visit, stay, enjoy our vacation home we'd love to have you.

Here's a picture of Cambree enjoying her first ice cream cone on the deck.

All the moving did wear us out though. Hopefully we'll catch up on sleep soon. Till then we'll take it where we can get it.

Hawaiian Day

Today was Hawaiian day at school. Shayla was so excited. She was taught some hula moves and had to show me her stuff before she left. I personally think she looks beautiful in these colors.

At Her Best

Here's cute Cambree all dressed up and ready to go to church. She's wearing an awesome outfit given to her by, none other than, Lara Garner and Jen Baxter. Thanks guys, for making her look so good!
