It's Officially -- Pathetic

Second Grade: First Day of School! It started tooooo early this morning. Shayla was so excited she woke up a ten to six. After Dad convinced her to go back to sleep for a few minutes, she woke up again at twenty to seven. She dressed, made her bed, got her hair done, ate breakfast and practiced the piano. She was all ready for her photo shoot.

First she had to say good-bye to her sisters....

Cambree's not going to know what to do without her best friend.

Next she told me exactly where to take her picture.

She looks too grown up in her new clothes.

Off to school, and finally admits that she has a teensiest bit of nervousness.

I'm looking too old! So is Shayla, for that matter.

Bye, Mom!

Well, wouldn't you cry?

Happy Birthday to You!

Well, it's happened, another year has gone by and now I have a seven year old!
She is so grown up and wishes she was seventeen instead of seven. If only she would slow down and not hurry so fast to grow and leave. She had a great day, and will continue some of her festivities through the weekend. Here's a few of the favorite pictures of the day.

Oh how we love these girls!!!

Presents!!!

What is it?

Waiting to blow out the candles.

After realizing I spend hours making a cake that nobody eats, we decided that carmel
brownies were the way to go.

The perfect ending to a perfect day.

Cedar

Visiting Grandma and Papa sure looks a lot different than it use to.
But it sure is pretty!

Climbing is so much fun!

The world is a stage for these girls! Maybe one day.....

Fireworks and Summer Fun!

July has been a busy month, with lots and lots of playing. We've had fun with cousins and fun with friends. Summer is the best!!!

Here we are playing with fire.....look how we lit up the sky!

Jokes on them, the fireworks were on the ground! We sure had fun watching our dad and uncle lite them and run for cover!

Nothing like swimming with cousins! What a blast!!!!

Primary party complete with face painting! What a beauty.

A surprise birthday party includes a slide for the "kids" and a trampoline! Wow! We're so glad we were invited to this party!

The Great Outdoors!

There's nothing like going up to the cool mountains to hike around, when it's 100 degrees in the valley! Fun times were had by all...

Beachin' Vacation

We just had a vacation of a lifetime! We decided to fly the girls across the country and go to Virginia Beach. Using airline miles and splitting the cost with Ann and Tyler (who happened to take the same week off work as Brian without knowing it) made it a not so bad vacation, expense wise. What a blast! There is something truly amazing about the beach! We arrived at our condo and went straight out to the beach to show the girls why we came.

Ann and her fancy new camera, followed us on Sunday as we strolled along the beach.

Monday morning finally came and we headed straight out front, to the beach. We were all so excited!

We're ready! And looking great! Let's go!

Tianne spent her time being held, or on a chair. She did NOT like the sand.

This is not baby yoga -- it's trying not to touch anything!

Pure enjoyment!

We took some time from our beach time to go to Busch Gardens. A great time was had by all!

Tianne freaked out when she saw Elmo! She screamed and screamed! She was so excited!

The next day we went to the aquarium to see and touch the cool fishes.

Back to the Beach! To spend the rest of the week!

Tianne hated the sand, but LOVED the water! She couldn't get enough of the waves rolling onto her. And the last day at the beach, she decided sand was Great! And ate a few handfuls.

Cambree spent her time, in her own world, singing and playing in the sand. She would go into the water if someone went with her, but she was content to spend the whole day on land.

This picture captures Shayla perfectly! She had a blast. She was constantly playing in the water and could have spent all day and night on the beach!

We decided to check out the boardwalk in Virginia Beach. We got this great idea to rent this mega-bike and tote the entire family around in it. It looks like fun, doesn't it? Well, it's not! It is a TON of hard work. We worked up a good sweat and were all ready to go back to our place, change into swimming suits and jump in the ocean. And so we did!

Thanks Burningham's for spending your vacation time with us! We truly had a dream vacation!
